Ideal House

  Do you know the house in the two pictures below? I guess that you can recognize this house easily. A few months ago, this house became famous because it was used as the main character's library in the TV drama 'Secret Garden'. When I saw this house, I really wanted to have this type of house because it is my ideal house. First, the outside is very simple and urban. This structure is just rectangular-shaped, and what we can see, is only the dark gray surface of a wall, a very huge window, and big door. If this building consists of only gray walls, we'd feel heavy and stuffy. However, one half of the surface of the wall is made up of a very large window to remove this feeling.

 Next, the inside is not only antique but also simple. one side of this room has an enormous bookshelf. There is a ladder against the bookshelf because the bookshelf is very high. The bookshelf is made up of wood and metal. Brown wood and gray metal are in beautiful balance. Also, this roon looks so large because it has high ceilings that are twice the size of other rooms. There are very huge windows that occupy two sides of this roon. Through these windows, this room gets a lot of sunshine, and it is easy to appreciate the natural landscape.

 

 If someone likes books and nature, this house can be the best place to enjoy his life . Furthermore, this house makes people relaxed, calm, and affirmative. If I could live in this wonderful house, I would be as happy as can be.

The Greatest Invention in My Life : 'Smart Card'

  These days, almost everyone who does not own a car has a smart card. The most widely used smart card is called T-money, which stands for Transportation money. The card only costs about 300 won, and we can use it forever once we keep the money charged on it. It is easy to charge the card, since we can find a charging machine without difficulty. It saves money by getting a transfer discount. we can take a bus or subway and transfer up to five times without paying an additional fair. It is very useful when a bus or subway does not offer a direct route to the destination. Recently, we have been able to use  T-money just like a checking card. Many convenient stores, bookstores, vending machines and even MacDonal's accept T-money as cash. When more companies cooperate with T-money, we might be able to use it like real cash. Also, it provides a transportation service in other cities besides Seoul. It means we can use the card almost everywhere in Korea. Without the smart card, it would be inconvenient for us to get a ticket every time we get on public transportation. 

 Thankfully, the smart card has made our lives much easier, faster and cheaper!

The Specialist

  My highschool teacher is the specialist in his job and work. His name is Lee Kang-Hyuk. He was Spanish teacher in highschool.

 He can speak Spanish like his original language. Of course, he is very good at teaching Spanish. He didn't force students to study only vocabulary, grammar, etc. That's because he didn't think that memorizing was everything in studying language. Everytime we took his class, we were very happy to learn interesting things about Spain and South America. Because he traveled a lot, he let us experience many countries indirectly, but vividly. It was an amazing and unforgettable experience. He liked traveling and could make his travel more valuable. When he traveled to many countries, he backpacked from place to place, not just touring easily. For example, he walked a tough path for a long time with a heavy backpack in South America. He wanted to know their lives through direct experience. He is an adventurous person, and who I want to be.

 Also, he wrote many kinds of books. He participated in making Spanish text books, and published some books on the history of Spain and South America. In addition, he also published one book that showed us how to go to 'Camino de Santiago'. He knows 'Camino de Santiago' well because he had been there twice.

 As you see above, he is an enthusiastic person in the work he is doing. Because of his passion, he can be a specialist in teaching Spanish. I really want to be a person like him who do his best.
